Find your child's school at the
4th Annual New Schools Expo Jan. 29, 2011
Are you or any friends and family looking for a new Chicago public school? If so, I encourage you to attend the city's 4th Annual New Schools EXPO.
The Chicago Public Schools and The Renaissance Schools Fund are hosting the 4th Annual New Schools EXPO on Saturday, January 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at Soldier Field, 1410 S. Museum Campus Dr. (indoors and heated). The EXPO is an opportunity to learn about and apply to the newest Chicago public schools, including charter schools.
There will be more than 85 campuses represented at the EXPO, including elementary and high schools located on the city's Northwest, West and South Sides. Many of these schools offer innovative approaches to learning that could include: longer school days and school years, special themes and access to technology, internships and other resources.
Guests will have the chance to talk with school leaders, to begin applying to new schools on-site, attend educational workshops, be part of a Town Hall forum moderated by Fox Chicago's Robin Robinson, and enjoy a free screening of The Lottery. Since application deadlines are coming up, don't miss this opportunity to one-stop-shop for a new school!
The event is free and open to all. Free parking will be available. There will also be a free trolley running between the Roosevelt Red Line stop and the EXPO. If you plan to take the CTA to the EXPO, more travel information is available on the New Schools EXPO website at www.newschoolsexpo.com.
Please pass this message along to friends and family who may also be interested in exploring the new public school options across Chicago. To learn more, please visit www.newschoolsexpo.com or call 1-888-7-MYCHOICE.
