Columbia’s 5th Annual Get in the Mix program

In the Mix is an all-day event designed for minority and traditionally underrepresented students who want to know more about Columbia College Chicago and how we support and inspire the wide range of backgrounds, approaches, and voices found all over our campus. Get in the Mix is a preview of life as a Columbia student, designed particularly for our prospective diverse students (First generation, African-American, Latino, GLBT, Asian, Economically Challenged and Native American). This is idea for seriously minded juniors and seniors passionate about the arts and receiving an accredited liberal arts degree from the largest private Arts and Communications College in the country. Learn more, forward, and have your students RSVP NOW

Also Important:

CPS Scholarship reminder:
This is a reminder about our 8th year offering the OPEN DOOR SCHOLARSHIP only for our beautiful CPS students.  Students considering Columbia for fall 2011 should simply apply for admission to be eligible.

How your students receive Open Doors: $6,000 renewable each year with 2.5
I. GPA 2.5 or better
II. Apply to Columbia in a timely fashion (NOW for 2011). Application must be complete this includes: Letter of Recommendation, Official High School Transcripts, Essay, Immunization record and App. Fee (I can waive this).
III. Complete FAFSA by March 15, 2011

Columbia gives a minimum of fifty OD scholarships per-year; wonderfully, the last two years
afforded us to award over one hundred to your students.  We currently have over 1.3 Million dollars invested in CPS students.  There, however, is one issue.  Giving this money away is like pulling teeth, when all we are asking the students to do is simply apply.  I thought my reaching out to you might provide that extra push.
