CPS accepting substitute teacher applications

CPS accepting substitute teacher applications until January 7
Application window opened December 21, closes January 7

CPS is now accepting applications from individuals with regular teaching certificates to apply for day-to-day substitute teaching positions. The application window begins December 21, 2010 and continues through January 7, 2011.

Our hiring process prioritizes applications from former tenured teachers who were honorably dismissed during budget-related layoffs earlier this year. However, we also anticipate hiring some new applicants as well. Please note that current CPS employees and individuals who hold only a Type 39 certification are not eligible to apply. Detailed information on the application process is available at http://cedo.cps.k12.il.us/viewitem.aspx?id=50849.

All interested applicants should begin by confirming their interest in becoming a day-to-day substitute teacher (candidates with open applications may indicate whether they are interested in teacher positions, substitute teacher positions, or both) by accessing and completing the application available at https://www.cps-humanresources.org/Hronline/logon/ProspEmpLogon.asp

Action requested: Please share the information with individuals who may be interested in day-to-day substitute teaching positions.
