CLOCC funding Announcement

Funding Alert
On May 4, 2011, CLOCC will be releasing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to support policy, systems, and environmental change related to healthy food and physical activity at the neighborhood level.  A total of $800,000 is available for a one-year period and will be divided among 10 - 15 awards.  These neighborhood-level efforts will be an important component of Chicago's obesity-focused efforts under the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) initiative, a joint project of CLOCC and the Chicago Department of Public Health.  CPPW is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Interventions will focus on healthy food retail, school wellness policy, breastfeeding support, and safe walking and biking.  Applications from eligible communities will be due on June 6, 2011.  For information about eligibility, go here.
A pre-award workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at Bigler Auditorium at Children's Memorial Hospital from 2 - 5 p.m.  You must reserve a space to attend.  To RSVP for the
pre-award workshop, email info@clocc.net with your name, organization, and contact information.  At the workshop, guidance will be provided, and questions will be answered about the grant process.  We strongly encourage those planning to apply for a grant to attend this important event.
