Speakers include Kym Ahrens of the University of Washington; Jeffrey Butts of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY; Tim Cavell of the University of Arkansas; Sarah Geenen of Portland State University; Roger Jarjoura of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis; Thomas Keller of Portland State University; Leslie Leve of the Oregon Social Learning Center; Michelle Munson of New York University; Julia Pryce of Loyola University Chicago; Renee Spencer of Boston University; and Heather Taussig of the University of Colorado.
This Summer Symposium on Mentoring Research is open to professionals from youth mentoring programs and professionals working in the fields of child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health and education. Representatives from federal, state and local governments, businesses, foundations, philanthropic organizations as well as community advocates and volunteers, including mentors, also are welcome.
The registration fee is $75, except for a reduced rate of $50 for Oregon residents and programs. Because space is limited, the registration deadline is July 11. To sign up and learn more about the symposium, visit www.youthmentoring.ssw.pdx.edu/.
