The Center for Faith and Community Health Transformation
invites you and your community - including children– to join us at
A Feastival Celebration: Nourishing
Healthy Communities with Food and Faith
at the Brookfield Zoo
Discovery Center
8:30 am – 4:30 pm,
Monday, October 10th, 2011 (school holiday for most Chicagoland
schools).
Please note the attached bulletin insert (5x8 when
copied front and back) and forward when appropriate. This all-day
interfaith summit – designed for clergy and layleaders -- will introduce the
connections between food, faith and health with engaging faith rituals,
get-your-hands-dirty workshops, and healthy taste testing! As people of
faith, we recognize that our health is influenced by many factors that go
beyond eating or activity habits alone—relationships and ‘connectivity’,
community support and being valued, spirituality and hope, justice and
equity. In order to improve the health of our communities, we need to
continue the work of building beloved community. The Feastival
Celebration will help provide tools and ideas to make health and wholeness a
social, community enhancing activity.
Join us on October 10th from 8:30am to 4:30pm and
get re-energized about living healthfully and faithfully.
