Impact Jazz Fundraiser and Silent Auction Greetings:
Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to consider supporting IMPACT Family Center, You are probably aware that this organization is extremely special to me. I learned that it is more important to the youth who depend on the programs, services and events. They WANT to be there. IMPACT Family Center, a not-for-profit organization, which offers empowering programs to youth primarily on the south side of Chicago, as well as throughout Chicago’s diverse communities and Cook County. I am excited to invite you to attend our “Jazz Under the Stars” Annual Fundraising Reception & Silent Auction. This event will feature the awarding of the “IMPACT Our World” honor to Illinois State Senator Emil Jones III and Phalanx Family Services, and will be held at IMPACT Family Center, 10958 S. Halsted St. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The media productions of our teens will also be featured during this wonderful evening. Since 2005, IMPACT continues to provide computer/technology programs, career exploration, anti-violence and educational enrichment youth services to teens throughout the south side and south suburbs. This organization has worked with low-income teens to teach effective communication skills, digital media, and television production skills. The deeper lessons in life-skills, character building, and self-esteem have created a catalyst for change in the hearts and minds of teens who believed that they did not have a future. We will be adding adult programs soon. IMPACT Family Center operated out of a local church for years, but currently utilizes a small rental building, for which we are grateful. We are rapidly outgrowing it. There is a great need for a larger building, newer computers, and an expanded scope of services including a community technology center to meet the need of youth and families on Chicago’s south side. I never imagined that when this was just a vision in my mind that IMPACT would grow this quickly. Please plan to attend this worthwhile event on October 22, and enjoy a silent auction with awesome items donated by Chicago’s best businesses, great jazz music, inspiring award ceremony, and more.
