Participate in Homeless youth Conference call

All the state-funded providers should have received an email from Carolyn Broughton at IDHS (see below) regarding our first meeting to formally discuss setting realistic and meaningful goals and outcomes by which homeless youth programs can be measured.  This is crucial to the new performance-based funding that is being implemented through “Budgeting for Results.”  Though you are strongly encouraged to participate if you receive funding from the state to operate a homeless youth program, the meeting is open to participation from other agencies as well.

                Phone conference will be available as well.  Call-in information will be provided within the next week or so.

RSVP: to Carolyn Broughton or Daria Mueller, at daria@chicagohomeless.org, by Nov. 11^th, with “RSVP for Nov. 11^th” in the subject line.  (This helps me to not lose track of these emails.)

Also, a document is attached with recommendations based loosely on outcomes found in the Chicago Plan to End Homelessness Program Models Chart with a couple revisions from the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless Youth Committee.  They have not been voted on or endorsed by any organization or group of organizations.  They are merely to serve as a starting point for our discussions around IDHS-funded Homeless Youth Program outcome measures. We will send this document to Carolyn and Karrie Rueter as well. Please take a moment to review this document before our meeting, and keep in mind that this is only a starting point, and we will begin an open discussion at our first meeting on the 15^th.  Please hold your comments until that time, or if you have feedback and cannot attend, you can send me your comments ahead of time to bring to the group.
