2012-2013 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) PROCESS

Dear Friends:

After School Matters Request for Proposals for the 2012-2013 program year is NOW AVAILABLE at www.afterschoolmatters.org/programproviders. Here, you will be able to download the RFP Instructions Document as well as the link to create an online account and begin work on your proposal. This RFP will cover After School Matters 2012-2013 program year: programs to be delivered in summer 2012 and school year 2012-2013.

PLEASE NOTE: This year's RFP process is for NEW providers only. CURRENT providers will not submit a proposal through the RFP. Current providers are defined as those who are providing an After School Matters program during the current program year: summer 2011 and/or school year 2011-2012. All current providers will undergo a performance review, anticipated to begin in January, to determine whether they will re-contract for next year. If you are not providing a program during the current program year, then you will need to submit a new proposal through the RFP process.

RFP PROCESS AND TIMELINE
After School Matters 2012-2013 RFP is now available at www.afterschoolmatters.org/programproviders. All proposals will be due no later than February 3 at 5:00 p.m., and only completed proposals will be reviewed. Final decisions are expected to be communicated by mid-April.

You will actually complete and submit your proposal through the Cityspan online proposal system. The RFP document referenced above will instruct you on how to create an online account, will guide you through the entire RFP process, and will provide you with some context and an overview of After School Matters.

PROGRAMMATIC PRIORITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
  • Current program providers that meet or exceed program quality standards will be given priority consideration for re-contracting and placement. There will be limited opportunities for new providers to deliver programs during the 2012-2013 program year covered by this RFP, as After School Matters does not predict an increase in program offerings during this period.
  • For the 2012-2013 program year, After School Matters will keep a waitlist of 10 percent of programmatic capacity to fill gaps in programming due to program cancellations and/or to take advantage of opportunities for growth.
  • After School Matters is seeking new and innovative program proposals in the following content areas and/or industry sectors. Quality program proposals in these areas may be given priority consideration over other new program proposals:
    • science37: Natural Sciences; Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics
    • science37: Applied Sciences; Green Technology, Urban Ecology
    • gallery37: Visual Arts; Painting, Murals, Furniture Making, Fashion, Ceramics, Jewelry Making, Illustration, Mosaics, etc.
    • gallery37: Music; Jazz, Instrumental, Vocal Arts
---

Again, we are grateful for your interest in providing a program with After School Matters.

Sincerely,

After School Matters
