On behalf of the Latino Policy Forum and the Illinois Latino
Family Commission, I invite you to attend a panel discussion entitled: Budgeting for Results: How
Latino-led Nonprofits Must Respond next Wednesday, December 14, from
8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Latino Policy Forum’s office building (180 N. Michigan
Avenue, 6th Floor Conference Room, Chicago, IL, 60601).
The Budgeting for Results workshop will feature the
following panelists:
- State Senator Dan Kotowski, Chairman, Budgeting for Results Commission,
- John Kamis, Senior Advisor, Office of Governor Pat Quinn, and
- Dr. Layla P. Suleiman Gonzalez, Director, Office of Strategic Planning, Preparedness and Performance, Illinois Department of Human Services
During the event, these state leaders will discuss the
following topics:
- How Budgeting for Results will affect the distribution of state resources,
- The Illinois Department of Human Services’ approach to this new fiscal framework, and
- Implications for nonprofits with state contracts, including performance-based contracting
Following their presentations, there will be a Q&A session
where the audience can offer direct comments and feedback to state leaders
regarding the implementation of Budgeting for Results. Although
some have become familiar with this initiative, this event will offer a unique
opportunity for you to inform state leaders about the challenges that you
anticipate will occur as you begin to conform to the new data collection and
reporting requirements that will be required of state-funded programs.
This event is recommended for nonprofit executive directors/CEOs,
performance and quality assurance staff, and development staff. Given the
fiscal implications of this initiative, please consider inviting your board
members. We encourage you to register multiple staff for this event.
Registration is free, but space is limited so please register TODAY!
Sincerely,
Sylvia
