Commission on Human Relations Youth Task Force

Youth Task Force (YTF)

The Chicago Commission on Human Relations Youth Task Force (YTF) is an elite set of diverse youth ranging from ages 15 to 25 whose mission is to help promote unity and understanding between young people of Chicago through dialogue, education, sensitivity training, and inter-cultural exchanges. One of the main goals of the YTF is to help mobilize Chicago’s youth to come together and help raise awareness and eradicate all forms of racism, discrimination, stereotypes, and biased behavior among Chicago’s youth population.
In the Youth Task Force, young people have a safe space and the opportunity to discuss their knowledge and understanding of diversity and its impact on local communities. They will have a chance to learn about the concepts of building tolerance and acceptance as an integral part of living and working with people from all different “walks of life” which will be paramount for navigating in this complex and growing global city.
