Program Director (1 Full Time position)

Location: Central Services
Job Purpose: To direct and manage effective Community Schools programs in collaboration with CYC centers, external partners, community stakeholders, and state funding agencies.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, Human Services or related field required; Master’s Degree Preferred. Minimum of five (5) years experience in education, youth development, or related programs. Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or management experience. Effective communication skills (verbal and written). Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.). Energetic and outgoing personality.

Outreach Worker (2 Full Time positions)

Location: Crown
Job Purpose:  To provide outreach, support, resources, and referrals to referred DCFS youth and foster families toward the goal of stabilizing placements and assisting youth in the achievement of educational goals; network and interface with assigned POS foster care agency and Caseworker to ensure coordination of educational and developmental programs and services with the child’s service plan.
Requirements:  BA degree in Human Services or related field; Master’s preferred. 2 years related experience in outreach, casework, or crisis intervention work. Must have strong child welfare background, and strong communication skills (verbal and written). Demonstrated ability to successfully engage and work with hard-to-reach youth. Computer expertise (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.). Candidate must have reliable personal transportation and minimum vehicle insurance coverage; must be able to pass DMV and DCFS background check. Energetic and outgoing personality.
 

Youth Worker Associate (4 Part Time positions)

Location:  ABC Polk Bros, Crown & Fellowship
Job Purpose:  Within centers/sites, camp, and external locations, performs functions to coordinate and implement out-of-school time youth development activities; working with the program team under general direction of a Youth Worker and supervision of a Center Director, plans and implements daily lessons and activities for assigned after school group in the context of CYC’s Positive Youth Development program framework.

Requirements: Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Youth Development or related field, with a minimum of six semester hours in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, Camping or other related field. Associate’s Degree Equivalency: 30+ semester hours of college credit plus 2 years of experience in youth development or a related field (six hours of which must be in a field related to youth development as noted above),

 Or
6 – 30 semester hours of college credit plus 3 years of experience in youth development or a related field (six hours of which must be in a field related to youth development as noted above).   Advancing Youth Development Certificate (may acquire at first opportunity).  One year related work experience.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children in the field of youth development.  Strong communication skills (verbal and written).  Computer expertise (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.).  Energetic and outgoing personality.  The work hours: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

Youth Organizer (1 Full Time position)

Location: ABC Polk Bros.
Job Purpose:  In collaboration with the Center Director and the Safety Net Works Coordinator responsible for the Safety Networks Youth Leadership Program. The Youth Organizer will take the initiative to plan, implement, and coordinate youth organizing activities utilizing the Positive Youth Development program framework and community organizing practices in accordance with Chicago Youth Centers' mission, vision, values and the Illinois Violence Prevention (IVPA) planned objectives. Although the Youth Organizer is assigned to a specific project, this position may be designated to assist and support other site specific programs or other CYC sites as needed.  The work hours are 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Youth Development or related field, with a minimum of six semester hours in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, Camping or other related field. Bachelor’s Degree Equivalency: 60+ semester hours of college credit plus 4 years of experience in youth development or a related field (six of which must be in a field related to youth development as noted above),Or30-59 semester hours of college credit plus 5 years of experience in youth development or a related field (six of which must be in a field related to youth development as noted above). Advancing Youth Development Certificate (may acquire at first opportunity). One year related work experience preferred and demonstrated ability to work effectively with children in the field of youth development. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). N.R.I. Re-Entry - Case Manager (1 Full Time position)

Location: EDYC



Job Purpose:   Responsible for managing casework and re-entry transition services relating to the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative: Re-Entry Component; ensure that case activities conform to project guidelines and are effectively administered. 
Requirements:   Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in social work, human services, or a related field.Two years of case management experience. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to pass an MVR background check.  Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, and must be available after-hours for clients in crisis. Experience in working with community partners.  Experience in working with high risk youth and young adults in urban communities. Must be familiar with and comfortable traveling to the south and west sides of Chicago.


Child Care Director (1 Full Time position)

Location: Crown
Job Purpose:  Perform functions to plan, coordinate, implement and supervise site child development programs in accordance with Head Start Performance standards and regulatory agencies.
Requirements:  BA degree in Early Childhood Education or in related field.  2-3 years of experience as a manager/supervisor. 3 years of experience in an early childhood environment.  18 plus credit hours in early childhood education. 

Master Teacher (1 Full Time position)

Location: Crown
Job Purpose: Perform functions to develop classroom plans, supervise classroom activities and general development of children in a preschool teaching environment, reflecting the Head Start standards and the CYC educational plan.
Requirements:  BA degree in early childhood education. Type 04 Certification.  2-3 years of related experience (preferred).  Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook).  Strong communication skills (verbal and written).  Must possess leadership skills.

Family Service Worker (1 Full Time position)

Location: Roseland
Job Purpose: Perform functions to provide casework services for private partners, counseling, and referral resources to families of children enrolled in the child development program to help families set goals and create individualized family service plans.  Recruit and enroll eligible families for program. Provide leadership to partner sites in planning and implementing parent workshops, activities and program goverance. Achieve successful transition children to Kindergarten.    
Requirements: BA degree in Early Childhood Education.  1-2 years of related Head Start experience and or Social Service. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel and Outlook). Ability to work with a diverse group of people. Must speak the primary language of children / families served. Candidate must have reliable personal transportation and minimum vehicle insurance coverage; must be able to pass DMV and background check.  The work schedule is 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

Communications and Development Coordinator (1 Full Time position)

Location: Central Services 
JOB PURPOSE: The Communications and Development Coordinator designs and implements communications strategies support of agency mission and goals. He/she also provides support for the development program by preparing general operating proposals and stewardships reports.  
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with preference for English, mass communication, journalism, public relations, or other relevant subject matter area. Require two to five years of professional experience, preferably in a non-profit environment. Excellent command of English and the ability to compose, edit, and proof read materials. Grant writing experience desired. Publications experience required. Solid experience with website design and management software required (Joomla Content Management preferred). Previous experience working with Social Media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.) on behalf of an organization desired. Extensive computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with PowerPoint and knowledge of Publisher required. Knowledge of Raisers’ Edge or other windows-based fundraising database desired. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects. Excellent organizational skills and analytical ability. Ability to interact with colleagues, CYC constituents, and other external audiences with a pleasant and effective manner. Commitment to the mission and philosophy of CYC.

HR Specialist (1 Full Time position)

Location: Central Services
Job Purpose:   Perform functions to facilitate effective human resources administration including coordination of new hire processing, benefits administration and recruitment, to meet employee needs in an accurate, timely and professional manner. 
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources, or related field) preferred; High School diploma required. 2-3 years experience in Human Resources (benefits and recruitment preferred).  Strong communication skills (verbal and written).  Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Proficient Microsoft office suite skills.

Site Coordinator (4 Full Time positions)

Location: ABC Polk Bros, Crown, & Fellowship
Job Purpose: In collaboration with the Center Director, school faculty, Local School Council, students, parents, and community, manage and coordinate 21st Century Community Learning Center and Community School Programs at assigned school.
Requirements: Master’s Degree preferred; Baccalaureate Degree required in Youth Development, Social Work, Human Services, Education, Recreation, or related field. Advancing Youth Development Certificate, Youth Worker Certification Levels I and II (may acquire at first opportunity). Five (5) years related work experience and demonstrated competence in the field of youth development; experience in community schools a plus. Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written), problem solving, and conflict resolution skills; ability to communicate with different audiences, such as school administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community members. Strong organizational skills, including ability to create and manage complex schedules, keep accurate records, prepare reports, and manage budgets. Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and some weekends. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher). Energetic, positive, and outgoing personality, including ability to work under multiple reporting layers.

Assistant Teacher (1 Full Time position)
