Dear marcus,
This Saturday, December 3, 2011 there are a variety of
community events going on that you might enjoy. First, from 9am - 11am
Midway Document Destruction will provide free document shredding services
at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, 3857 W. 111th Street.
Before documents can be shredded, they must be completely loose, with all
staples and binders removed. 19th ward residents can bring any
documents they wish to shred to the school and load them into a plastic
cart. The carts are then loaded into the truck and shredded on sight. This
service is free of charge and there is no limit to the amount of paper you
can shred.
The Mt. Greenwood Park Advisory Council and the Chicago
Blackhawks will co-host a free skills seminar at the Mt. Greenwood Park Ice
Rink, 3725 W. 111th St., from 12pm-2pm. The seminar is for youth skaters
and hockey players and is open to all 19th Ward youth. Free skate rental
will be available.
Winter Wonderland at Mt. Greenwood Park will begin
immediately after the skills seminar, from 2:00pm - 5:00pm. Free ice
skating and skate rental, carriage rides, holiday crafts, a magician,
reading of "The Night Before Christmas", hot chocolate and
cookies all will be provided. Santa will be available for photos, don't
forget your camera! Join us for the official Christmas tree lighting
ceremony at 5:00pm to welcome the Christmas season.
If you have any questions about these events, please contact
me at (773) 238-8766 or mattoshea@the19thward.com. Hope to see you
there.
Thank you,
Matt O'Shea
