Theater Project for Teen Dating
Violence Month
Between Friends is planning a
youth-led theater event for Teen Dating Violence (TDV) Prevention and Awareness
Month in February 2012 and we need YOUR help! TDV Prevention and
Awareness Month is a national effort to raise awareness about abuse in youth
relationships and promote programs that prevent it. This will be the
third TDV Prevention and Awareness Month ever!
Between Friends can come to your agency and provide a workshop about the dynamics of teen dating violence in order to give the youth a baseline education and some ideas on what to include in the play. In addition, we will oversee the logistics of the final performance in February. At the performance, we will process the content of each skit with the audience to ensure this is an educational experience for all.
If your organization is interested in becoming involved in this event please contact Colleen Norton, Prevention & Education Manager, at CNorton@betweenfriendschicago.org <mailto:CNorton@betweenfriendschicago.org> or 773.274.5232x26. You will be asked to fill out a short application with the youth who will create the play. Only fully completed applications will be accepted and groups will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
