Healthy Places (formerly known as the Communities Putting Prevention to Work initiative) has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to support policy, systems, and environmental change related to healthy food and physical activity at the neighborhood level. A total of $800,000 is available for a one-year period and will be divided among 10 - 15 awards. These neighborhood-level interventions will focus on healthy food retail, school wellness policy, breastfeeding support, and safe walking and biking. Applications from eligible communities will be due on June 6, 2011. A pre-award workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at Bigler Auditorium at Children's Memorial Hospital from 2 - 5 p.m. You must reserve a space to attend.
