Internships with Dan Rutherford

Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford has announced an internship program this summer from June 1 through August 31, 2011. This program will expose exceptional students to the daily operations of the state treasurer’s office. Interns will have the opportunity to work in a specialized area that reflects their academic study with responsibilities ranging from basic administrative functions to specific department projects. Compensation is at the rate of $9.50 per hour, and applications will be accepted through May 6, 2011.

Potential candidates must have a background or interest in public policy, marketing communications public relations, or any other applicable field associated with the state treasurer’s office. Students must also possess a strong work ethic and have the ability and initiative to complete tasks independently.

Candidates will be subject to an interview process with a human resources representative and intern program coordinator in either Chicago or Springfield. Final determinations will be based on the candidate’s qualification and interviewer recommendation.
