Name: Center for Effective Nonprofits
Mission: Helping community organizations do what they do...better.
Vision: The Center for Effective Nonprofits assists, promotes, represents and strengthens community organizations as they improve the quality of life for those they serve.
The Institute for Excellence in Leadership is a collaborative project of University of Illinois Extension - Adams/Brown Unit, the Center for Effective Nonprofits at Quincy University and United Way of Adams County, Inc. The long-term goal of the Institute for Excellence in Leadership is to provide better-trained, competent, effective community organization leaders in the Tri-state region of Western Illinois, Eastern Missouri and Southeast Iowa.
Current News:
- Institute for Excellence in Leadership begins in October, 2006.
This series of eight day-long programs over a fifteen month period is specifically
designed to address the core competencies of effective and visionary management for community organizations.
The Foundation Center of New York City, NY has awarded a Cooperating Collection to the John Wood Community College (JWCC). The research library consists of on-line, electronic and print materials with information from over 80,000 grants. This permanent collection has been assigned a dedicated space in the JWCC Learning Center and provides a core collection of Foundation Center publications as well as a variety of supplementary materials and services in areas useful to grantseekers.
