Objectives: - Understand CCR & Dept. of Public Health relationship
- Identify different dispute resolution processes available in Grievance Procedure
- Increase awareness of how conflict arises
- Enhance conflict resolution skills
The Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR) provides mediation services for individuals in the midst of a dispute. These mediation services are included in the Part A services grievance procedure, but open to all individuals in the Chicagoland area. Mediation is a voluntary process in which a neutral third party, the mediator, facilitates a discussion between two disputing parties to explore options for mutual satisfaction. Mediation is an effective tool for problem solving when communication breaks down between parties who have to continue working with each other. This interactive workshop provides information about the mediation process, its place in the Part A services grievance procedure. It is also an opportunity to enhance conflict management skills in order to better address communication issues as they arise.
Providers from Part A funded agencies are encouraged to attend (the program is open to other providers as well). Onsite registrations will not be accepted. Registrants will receive a confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact Renee Poindexter at 312-996-1477 or runique@uic.edu. |
