Job opening: Voices for Illinois Children is hiring

Voices for Illinois Children is hiring a policy analyst to join its Budget & Tax Policy Initiative in order to expand its capacity to address state fiscal issues affecting children, families, and communities.
The Budget & Tax Policy Initiative (BTPI) conducts research and analysis on state fiscal issues in Illinois, with a focus on policies affecting low- and moderate-income families. A major source of information for policymakers, advocates, and the media, BTPI aims to influence public debate with timely, credible, and accessible policy analysis.
BPTI is a project of Voices for Illinois Children, a non-partisan, statewide, multi-issue advocacy organization. BTPI is a member of the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative, a network of more than 40 state-level non-profit organizations coordinated by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities in Washington, D.C.
The policy analyst will be responsible for researching and analyzing key developments in state budget and tax policy, as well as substantive program areas such as  human services, family economic security, and education.  She/he will also develop materials for communications and outreach, including reports, op-eds, fact sheets, and presentations appropriate for a wide variety of audiences.  Qualified candidates will demonstrate knowledge of budget and tax policy and the policymaking process, possess strong analytical ability, and have excellent writing and communication skills.
